The fire happened at the Academy of Palm Beach on Wednesday night.

Crews said the shed was detached from the main building, and as they began to fight the fire, they found the cats inside.

“As far as we can tell, all the cats got out or are currently trapped and we’re removing them right now,” Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Chief Herb Redmond said Wednesday night.

A student at the school said there could have been up to 30 cats in the shed.

No people were hurt.
